The Grand Canyon is a really wonderful location. It’s in the state of AZ and comprises about 277 miles of terrain. Many people visit it each and every year for the beauty and soothing atmosphere. In the Colorado River, which splits the canyon, people engage in smooth-water float tours. In fact, these float trips are so popular that many consider them to be the best one-day activity you can do while exploring South Rim.
These rafting tours run from March through November. They leave from Grand Canyon Airport in Tusayan, the town that is located minutes from the front gates of the main entrance. Don’t mistake these smooth-water outings with the more dangerous white-water rafting trips. You will not encounter any rough water during float trips.
Make certain to reserve your rafting tour ahead of time because trips have become popular. I usually advise reserving them a week or two before you get there. It’s unsurprising to meet up with a visitor who’s reserved their seats 1 year in advance. Part of the issue here are the motorized rubber pontoon boats – they hold only 19 travelers.
